Teaching Information Communication Technology in a Design Context.

This ICT in Context course is intended to deliver key skills in a stimulating learning environment. It enables students to produce their own design folio using pre-formatted files.

More and more Design & Technology Departments are delivering core ICT skills to the early secondary stage. This much admired product has been produced to assist those with this task.

This product consists of two projects for students to compile or develop - A Toy Train and a Stool/ Table.

DTP templates are provided in both Microsoft Word and Microsoft Publisher Formats.

Resource files of Text, Photographs, CAD Drawings (2D and 3D), Tables and Spreadsheets (Excel) are available for placing.

Students are encouraged to view and edit the existing files or produce their own versions for placing.

2D and 3D CAD work is provided in ProDesktop for editing but completed drawings are available in jpeg and gif formats for placing. Alternatively in-house CAD software could be used to produce these items.

All the products have been thoroughly tested in the classroom
